11 Jan 2021 – Nepalese Nursing Association UK has completed it’s handover of three ventilators to Nepali hospitals. NNAUK managed to complete the fundraising, procurement and distribution with in less than two months.

NNAUK started the campaign on 17th November and handed the last of the three ventilators on 8th January. Initially the aim was to provide respiratory devices to support two Nepali hospitals. As the campaign grew successful, the plan was revisited and increased to three hospitals. The three beneficiary hospitals are:
Narayani Zonal Hospital, Birgunj
Koshi Zonal Hospital, Biratnagar
Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal

Staff were given training in using the ventilator at each site by biomedical enginner. These ventilator will be very useful in treating COVID19 patients. These ventilators can also be used for non COVID19 patients once the pandemic is over.

NNAUK was successful to raise £6,380.82 through their fundraising. The ventilators and required accessories costed £10,147.23 . The difference was paid from NNAUK reserve funds.

NNAUK would like to thank every individuals who donated for this cause. and those who coordinated our fundraising. It is not possible to name all of our 120+ individual supporters here but we are very thankful to you all.

Apart from individuals, we had support from various communities like Dartford Nepalese Community, Croydon Nepalese Community and business like A-Star Financial Solutions, SNP Plus, IME London, Paragon College, Nepal Restaurant, Peepal Mortgages.

We are grateful to our supplier Respitech Healthcare Pvt Limited for considering the price for us. Our plan would not have completed this quickly without the help of Nurse Arati KC of Nepal Medical College who obtained quotes from various suppliers and coordinated with hospitals and supplier to make this happen.
